Dr Morteza Hayati is a Board–certified Psychiatrist (since 2004) and an Assistant Professor from Iran. He underwent further training in psychiatry in different states in Australia and was granted a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) in February 2023.

Working Experience

With over twenty years of experience in various areas of psychiatry, Dr. Hayati has worked in both Iran (since 2004) and Australia (since 2012). He currently serves as a staff specialist psychiatrist in NSW Health. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in teaching medical students and trainee psychiatrists, as well as conducting research.

Dr. Hayati possesses extensive psychiatric expertise in different settings, including ACT, VIC, and NSW Health services, in both inpatient and outpatient contexts, addressing complex needs. His diverse interests have driven him to gain experience in acute and chronic Adult Psychiatry, Recovery-oriented Mental Health Intervention, Community Mental Health Services, Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD), Post–Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Remote and Rural Mental Health Services, Indigenous People Mental Health Services, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities, and Psychopharmacology (medications). His two decades of practice, spanning private and public sectors, have also allowed him to focus increasingly on psychotherapy. He has received training in various psychotherapeutic modalities, including Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT, and IPT. Dr. Hayati has additionally contributed to medical teaching and training as an Assistant Professor and has conducted research in Mental Health, including Depression and adult ADHD.

At Mind Oasis, his aim is to apply his expertise within an individually tailored, recovery-oriented, and multidisciplinary team approach to assist clients seeking specialized support on their journey towards an improved quality of life.
