Important Changes to Prescriptions Regulations – For Telehealth Patients

From 1 April 2022, due to the legislative change by the Department of Health, pharmacies will no longer accept image-based prescription via email or fax for authority medications. Pharmacies will only accept physical paper script or E-script.

For patients who have telehealth appointments, we will continue to post the physical paper script to your nominated pharmacy. However, please note that the delivery can take up to 7-10 days due to the uncertainty of Australia Post. If you need your medication urgently, please discuss with your psychiatrists during your consultation to see if they can offer you an option to pick up the script at the clinic.

Since last year, in preparing for the transition, our team has been working hard on incorporating the “eScript” into our system. The “eScript” is a QR code sent to your mobile – so you can take this to the pharmacy for scripts. We are awaiting our software provider to finalise the eScript function in our system. We will provide an update to our patients once the “eScript” function is available.

We strongly encourage our patients to book an appointment well in advance before your medication runs out to provide buffer time (7 – 10 days) for the script postage.

Limit the number of non-essential visitors to the practice, where possible come on your own. If you require a support person, only one companion is allowed to enter the clinic.
