Dr Maxine Cheung is an Australian-trained and Hong Kong–registered psychiatrist with extensive clinical experience across Australia, Hong Kong, and international private practice settings. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (Psychiatry), and a Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Psychiatrists, with additional membership in the UK Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych).
Dr Maxine Cheung’s expertise spans general adult psychiatry, child and adolescent mental health, sleep medicine, community psychiatry, and acute inpatient care.
She has held senior registrar roles at multiple Eastern Health services in Melbourne, specialist consultant positions at Central Health Hong Kong, and academic appointments as an honorary clinical tutor with both the University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr Maxine Cheung’s clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, ADHD and ASD, eating disorders, substance use and dual diagnosis, and complex trauma. She has published peer-reviewed research, presented at international conferences, and actively contributes to mental health NGOs, refugee services, and peer-support initiatives.
