Dr Kailas Roberts

Dr Kailas Roberts is a general psychiatrist and psychogeriatrician. He has a special interest in cognitive disorders and dementia assessment and management, though has an extensive experience in treating a range of mental health disorders. He received his medical degree from Leicester University in the UK in 1998. He has trained and worked in the field of psychiatry for over twenty years, both in the UK (London and Wales) and Australia (Canberra and Brisbane). He qualified as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Psychiatry in 2009 and obtained a Certificate of Advanced Training in Old Age Psychiatry in 2019.

Working Experience

He is also the author of Mind Your Brain, The Essential Australian Guide to Dementia, published by the University of Queensland Press in 2012, and the developer of a phone app called Brainscan, which provides advice on optimal brain function.

As a consultant, Dr Roberts worked for five years as a Visiting Medical Officer with the West Moreton Older Persons Mental Health team whilst developing his private practice. For the last six years, he has focussed on the latter and has worked in a clinic setting in Brisbane as well as providing home visits to local-aged care facilities. His private work has included a mix of adult and old-age clients.

Dr Roberts has been doing telehealth consultations for over ten years, providing services to clients in rural locations. Additionally, he worked in the field of drug and alcohol addiction for a number of years, providing advice to those in rehabilitation facilities in NSW.

Working with Mind Oasis, he hopes to bring his broad range of skills and experience to support those in need.
