Dr Jonathan Brailey completed medical school at Flinders University in 2016, followed by medical internship at Flinders Medical Centre in 2017. He was granted Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2023, having held the position of Chief Resident in Psychiatry at Flinders Medical Centre, as well as being a medical school examiner. He has experience managing a wide range of psychiatric conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Working Experience

Dr Jonathan Brailey has previously worked across public mental health services in senior clinical roles, including:

Margaret Tobin Centre, Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, South Australia (2023–2025) – Consultant Psychiatrist, managing 10–12 general adult inpatient beds, supervising junior doctors and medical students, and working within a multidisciplinary team to provide collaborative, patient-focused care. Organized the monthly Grand Round academic meetings, contributed to the Brain and Behaviour medical school teaching program, served as a member of the Mental Health Morbidity and Mortality Committee, examined for the Psychiatry OSCE, and undertook the Certificate of Advanced Training in Psychotherapies.

Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, South Australia (2018–2023) – Psychiatry Registrar, completing five years of specialist training across general adult, child and adolescent, acute community mental health, consultation-liaison, psychogeriatrics, drug and alcohol, inpatient eating disorders, and state-wide anxiety and gambling disorders. Achieved the RANZCP Certificate of Merit for all stages of training. As Chief Resident in 2022, managed junior doctor rostering, organized the trainee academic program, and addressed workforce shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic.
