
Dr Charles Chan
Director, Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Charles Chan has over ten years of experience working in psychiatry. He has previously worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the public sector as a staff specialist psychiatrist with the NSW Justice Health. He has also worked extensively as a VMO Psychiatrist at St John of God Richmond Hospital and St John of God Burwood Hospital since 2014. Dr Chan has also worked as a Consultant Research Psychiatrist at Brain and Mind Research Institute focusing in mood and sleep disorder. Over the years, Dr Chan has involved in teaching medical students at the University of Sydney. He is an accredited supervisor for RANZCP trainees.
Dr Charles Chan is a current committee member of Medical Association Committee at St John of God Burwood Hospital; he is also a committee member of Transmagnetic Stimulation (TMS) Committee at St John of God Burwood Hospital.
He is a member of Australian ADHD Professional Association (AADPA). AADPA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation with a diverse membership of inter-disciplinary professionals across Australia and New Zealand. It is committed to working towards enhanced lifetime outcomes for individuals with ADHD and their families.
Dr Charles Chan has a special interest in the treatment of Mood Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). He uses a combination of biological treatments (medications, TMS, ECT) and psychological interventions.
He is an Approved Medical Specialist for NSW Workers Compensation Commission under the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA).
