Dr George Evans graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2011. He trained in psychiatry at Glenside Hospital, The Royal Adelaide Hospital, and Lyell McEwin Hospital completing specialist training through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2020. He graduated with a general certificate completing rotations in consultation-liaison, child and adolescent, inpatient, community, emergency, perinatal, and forensics. He is currently pursuing an advanced certificate in psychotherapy.

Working Experience

Dr Evans has over ten years of experience working in psychiatry. Since completing training he has worked primarily in an adult inpatient ward for which he is currently Head of Unit. He is actively involved in the teaching of medical students and psychiatry trainees.

Dr Evans is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He is a clinical associate lecturer at the University of Adelaide. He is a member of the Australian ADHD Professional Association (AADPA).

Special Interest

Due to his diverse but generalist training Dr Evans has a number of interests. Academically his passion lies in the field of descriptive psychopathology. Clinically this enables him to work empathically to elicit an individual’s unique symptoms and how they impact their life which is at the heart of psychiatric diagnosis. Conditions treated include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, psychosis, and personality difficulties.
