What is ADHD coaching?

ADHD coaches work collaboratively with their clients who have ADHD or ADHD-like symptoms to address specific needs and personal goals. Most current ADHD coaching programs acknowledge the biological underpinnings of the disorder in addressing the core symptoms of ADHD (inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity); however, coaching addresses the academic, vocational, emotional and interpersonal life difficulties that are a result of these symptoms and helps clients find ways to overcome these challenges. Through individualized or group assistance and support, coaches help people concentrate on where they are now, where they want to be and how they can get there.
ADHD coach helps people with ADHD carry out the practical activities of daily life in an organized, goal-oriented and timely fashion. In close partnership, an ADHD coach helps the client learn practical skills and initiate change in his or her daily life.

Curiosity, Intention, Action

As a Coach, and as someone who has and will continue to benefit from ADHD Coaching tools and mindset, it is a journey of curiosity and exploration driven by practical applications.  A journey focused on discovering yourself and your strengths through the exploration of your life beyond your current struggles. A process in which you set intentions, break down barriers and take accountability for your actions to reach your own personal goals and success. Through this journey, you will learn to thrive as yourself beyond the stresses and anxieties of life and those ADHD traits that have held you back.
We are all at different stages in our life’s journey. You might feel like some pieces of your puzzle are not quite fitting properly. You might feel more like a Picasso than yourself. Recognising that you want something different is a big step! It opens the door for change and growth. Then, by choosing to step through that door, you prioritise your-self, you own your intentions instead of repeating the habits that have lead you down the same road of overwhelm, roadblocks and limiting beliefs.

Who is Coaching for?

Coaching is for anyone who struggling with ADHD and who is ready to work for change.
My clients have included a range of people including students, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, athletes, new to the work force, retirees, stay at home parents. Some of my clients are newly diagnosed while others have been treated since they were children. Many come feeling stuck in their lives while, others are looking for additional support making major changes. While each journey is unique, most of my clients share a desire for something more, something better.  They are willing to commit to self-discovery and learning, they lean-in to the sessions with a curious mind, honest intentions and ownership.

Why Coaching? – Get unstuck, find yourself and own your success.

Coaching is Practical. The development and implementation of practical and sustainable life strategies to improve your life with ADHD and personal growth are the key focus of the coaching sessions. Innovative and practical strategies that we can develop together include: Goal setting, better time management, self-care focus, prioritisation, organisation, boundary setting and much more.
Coaching is work. Whether you are at the early stages of learning about yourself, your ADHD or you have been learning about yourself for some time now, coaching is work. Uncovering limiting beliefs, breaking down barriers and building new strategies to live your best life is hard work, it can be frustrating and exhausting at times, but the results are deeply rewarding!

What to expect? – Openness, clarity, and growth.

My intentions are to create a respectful, collaborative and liberating environment that welcomes honesty, that inspires self-confidence, self-worth, and facilitates the mindset needed for growth. My #1 focus is the personal successes of my clients. Personal success looks different for everyone, but the work we do together often includes:
Improving communication skills
Strengthening relationships, both personal and professional
Setting boundaries
Reducing negative self-talk
Being present in the moment
Balancing work and life
Gaining clarity and control of the impacts of ADHD
Freeing oneself from overwhelm
Not fearing but feeling excited to take on the day’s tasks
Feeling on top of daily tasks
